Visit to Mallappa Konda

What made me excited about the place is its location: at the Confluence of 3 states (KA, TN & AP). It is also one of the least explored places as I got to know from a YouTube Video by one of a traveller family. On a Sunday morning my daughter & I decided to explore this place. We left home around 7 am & after having breakfast on the way, we continued our journey through some scenic roads to reach the destination before 10 am.

Rewind about the journey: the roads are excellent & curvy as you traverse through small villages with some hairpin bends as well.  I could see the dark clouds in my rear view mirror & the white clouds with blue background through the front windshield. At one place, there was a check post where a guy was noting down the vehicle details & the trip details.

We could see the hill (with a Shiva Linga & a comm. tower) when we are approx.15 kms to the destination as per Google Maps. Then at one point, we drive through 3 states within a span on 5 mins. Also the road quality distinguishes the states. From the foot hill, new broad roads have been laid with some hairpin bends that takes you to the top in no time.

The top of the hill is pretty flat with a small temple. It also has a new temple constructed but not used. There is a lot of parking space with one toilet complex (not maintained properly).

A small hike through the rocks will take you further to the peak to get a 360 degree view of the place. When we visited, there was strong wind blowing from all directions, no doubt why the Shiva Linga at the peak was made of perforated metal sheet instead of a solid one. We spent some time at the peak amidst the strong winds clicking some pictures.

The place is good for a family/friends outing and you can extend your stay by packing your food.
Just beware about the strong winds when taking pictures at the edge of the rocks as it could push you for a free-fall.

While coming back, as there were limited/no options for food, we took the NH route to reach Bangalore.
